This is an example of a natural tooth set up. Note slight "jumbling of the teeth". Not perfectly straight alignment.
This is an example of a too straight alignment of teeth or "picket fence" denture.

Drop Dead Gorgeous Dentures

Because of advances in todays dental materials, we are now able to make dentures that are truly gorgeous and natural. George Washington's dentures were made out of wood. Vulcanite, which is a strong rubber material, was used routinely until the discovery of acrylic or methyl-methacrylate in about 1940. In addition to the base materials mentioned above, porcelain teeth are now manufactured mimicing our own natural teeth. They are virtually indistinguishable from real teeth. Custom colorazation of the gingival or gum tissue also adds a dramatic and personal effect to the final result. I encourage anyone who is considering dentures or is unhappy with their current dentures to explore all options and end up with a natural and drop dead gorgeous denture.
